Campaign Story

My name is Cierra. When I was 24 years old I was diagnosed with PCOS. I had just had my second baby and my doctor told me they were both miracles, that I should have never been able to get pregnant with how bad my symptoms were. I constantly felt exhausted, and after my son Lucas was born I had a lot of issues with hemorrhaging and pre cancerous cells were found in my uterus. My doctor told me the only way to get rid of my complications from giving birth and my PCOS was to have a hysterectomy. I didn’t have to think twice about it because I knew I had 2 boys I needed to be there for. I was young and did no research at the time. I figured my doctors would never send me down the wrong path. 3 weeks after that appointment I had my hysterectomy. A few weeks later my PCOS symptoms had not went away. My doctor assured me I did the right thing and they would go away. I am now 33 and still have all of the PCOS symptoms and still have the actual diagnosis because my ovaries were left. Which means the PCOS stays.

At the age of 31 I found myself going through a divorce.

I met Jayson and he instantly became my best friend. Jayson had no kids of his own, but took to the role as stepdad without hesitation. Anything my two boys or I needed he was there. It is hard stepping into the role that he could have easily walked away from. He chose to love 2 boys he didn’t create. He gets them to school, he practices baseball with our youngest everyday, and he always try to guide our oldest to make the best choices in life. He is an amazing stepdad, and I know he will be a great Father.

Jayson chose us even though he knew I could not physically carry a baby for us. We have thought about IVF and Surrogacy for a while, but wanted to be sure this was the right path for us. We have prayed and had many discussions about what this will look like. Our boys are excited for the possibility of a sibling, and we are getting excited about taking the next steps in growing our family together!

As many of you know most insurance companies do not have any IVF coverage. Our insurance is one of those companies. IVF is expensive on its own, but we also have to go the surrogacy route.

We would be so blessed if you could find it in your heart to donate to help us grow our family!
